Large Format Digital Printing Requirements when Customer Submitted Artwork
- Many of the products we produce require images to be enlarged 30-ft to 50-ft in size.
- When images are enlarged, they become pixelized, which means the image becomes
deteriorated and blocky.
- Super large Images or photos are not meant to be looked at close up.
- In order to best accomplish a super-large image the DPI (Dots per Inch ) and Pixel Size must
be high enough to be enlarged.
IMAGE SIZE
1) Resilite requires image files to be Very High Resolution in order to be enlarged.
2) Minimum DPI should be 300 DPI at 3800 pixels
( IE: image of 3800 x 5680 pixels – would be usable.
3) Images less than 300 DPI and smaller pixel size are not recommended
( IE: 1280 x 820 pixels at 200 DPI – would not be suitable to properly enlarge )
4) Smaller original images SHOULD NOT BE RESIZED - If the original file is not large enough
or does not have enough megapixels – the image should not be used.
FILE FORMAT
1) Preferred * - Photos or Image files should be TIFF files or Photoshop images
( with layers ) * Do Not merge layers
2) JPG Images are fine – but some limitations may exist since JPG are compressed files and
can lose quality
